These bollards were designed for harsh winter climates. When they are installed, they sit on a bed of 8” of gravel which allows for adequate drainage. They also have heating elements built into each bollard. They are rated to -40C. 

These also perform very well in the Winter. As they sit on an 8” bed of gravel, the product is designed to gravity drain. We have installed hundreds of these in Canada over the past 10 years. There is never an issue with the bollards getting stuck due to build-up in the unit. 

Yes, the product only weighs about 25 lbs and is designed to be lifted by anyone. 

Yes, there is an option for a battery back-up, and there is also a manual lowering function.

These products are a physical and a visual deterrent. Generally, thieves will take the path of least resistance. This means that when they see the bollards installed, they will move onto the next residence. They are also robust enough that they will withstand an impact from a vehicle. 

We have performed testing with a Range Rover, backing up into the bollard ten times from a 4’ runway. The bollard remainded fully intact, securing the vehicle in its place.
